Meet our BKL Team
The club is run by it’s members. The members are volunteers making sure the gym is 6 days per week open, has regular fresh new boulder problems, has a weekly training, events, clean, coordinated and financially healthy. A membership costs €10 per year and you will get a task assigned.

Ben Medernach
President of B.K.L. from 2007 to 2012, he studied Geography in Metz, France, and works as a teacher at the Lycée Technique in Ettelbrück. In terms of climbing, he has successfully completed sport climbing routes up to 8a, although he has always preferred short, powerful bouldering moves.
Alex Hoffmann
Treasurer of B.K.L. from 2007 to 2014, he studied in Munich and holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Alex began sport climbing after meeting Jerry in 2004. Since then, they have spent many weeks abroad tackling big walls and sport climbing. In 2006, he founded the website www.klammen.lu.
Christian “Di” André
A member of the Committee of the B.K.L. from 2007 to 2014, he holds a master’s degree in Mechanical and Process Engineering. He successfully climbed 7b+ redpoint outdoors but had to stop climbing in 2007 due to health problems.

1. What’s the entrance fee?

2. How can I pay my entrance?
Only three payment methods are accepted:
- Cash
- Payconiq (requires a Luxembourg bank account)
- Satispay (requires a couple of days for verification; download and set it up in advance. Use promo code 54U to get €5.00 off your first purchase)
We do not accept payment by:
- Card
- Direct transfer
3. Can children climb at BKL?
Children aged 14 and above are welcome to climb at BKL.
Unfortunately, children under 14 are not permitted to climb at BKL.
4. Can I borrow equipment at BKL?
Yes!
Chalk is available for free in a communal bag at the gym.
Rental shoes are included in the entrance fee, but we have a limited selection available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you plan to climb regularly, we recommend purchasing your own pair of climbing shoes.

5. What else should I bring to climb at the BKL?
Clothes you would feel comfortable climbing and moving in.
And also bring your friends … of course 😉
6. How to get to the gym from town? Can I park near BKL?
Our gym is located 10 minutes on foot away from town.
Yes, limited parking is available directly in front of the BKL.
Additional parking can be found on the surrounding streets and in Luxembourg city center.
For more options, the large Glacis parking lot is about a 15-minute walk away.
